In this class we will wrestle with the basics in The 5 Points of Calvinism at the foundation of who we are, how we got here, and where we are going. This is how we develop discernment in knowing God. As born again believers, we have an innate hunger and thirst to know God and fellowship with Him in His Manifest Presence and Power with us. The Lord told us that we are sanctified in truth and that by knowing truth we are made free. These are foundational truths to discover:

  1. Were we born again by the Sovereignty of God? Our own free wills? Or a combination of the 2?
  2. Did God choose us as His children or did we choose Him?
  3. Did God know us before He formed us in the womb? Did He appoint us to be His spokespersons before we were born?
  4. Is a personal relationship with God based upon our performance and our will in a moment or something more permanent?
  5. How secure are we in personal relationship with God and how do we know Him?

In order to understand important things, we need to seek God and study to know the truth. The 5 Points of Calvinism might be considered boring by emotional or intellectual terms. However, wrestling with the basics at the foundation of who we are, how we got here, and where are we going is how we develop discernment in knowing God.

The topics at question will come into focus, but that doesn’t mean we know how any one believer will understand the topic or the questions. There are 5 points to consider in the topic of a study called “Calvinism”.

**Spoiler Alert**.

The woman doing the reading and leading the class, believes each of the 5 points of Calvinism is perhaps half-right. There is more to discover of the plan of God than the 5 points of Calvinism and Arminianism can by themselves reveal.
